    ─────WELCOME─TO─PACKSORT──────────────────────────────────────────

         Hi everyone. How's life ?

Ok, here we go again, with one little, simple, Quickbbs 2.75
utility. Remember the first time you sorted your USERS.BBS ? What a
surprise to find out that, if you used USERSORT.EXE, it was sorted by
FIRSTNAME ! And just to add to the sinking feeling of <What's wrong
here!>, you had to use another utility to pack your USERS.BBS. Those
days are over, now that PackSort 2.1 is here. It will do both, Pack
and Sort by first or last names, from <A to Z> or from <Z to A>. It
will also delete old users. And while doing so, it will let you know
exactly what's going on... As an added bonus, an optional sorted ASCII
file of all your users will be generated, under the name USERLIST.TXT.
You could ZIP that file an make it available for download !

This treasure of a program is, as always, completely free. It
does not requier any kind of registration. You cannot however modify
in any way the original archive or files. If you do, a spell will be
cast upon you, that will alter the behavior of the McFee's virus
scanner. As a result, it will no longer search for 751 viruses, but
instead will toss every one of them into your system... Say, you
    wouln't want that, wouln't you ? ( And, yes of course it's a joke ! )

I do not offer any kind of warranty. If you ever decide to use
PackSort, well, you do it on your own. If it breaks anything, you can
keep the broken parts. If that makes you feel any better, I've been
using it for the past 2 months without any damage to my USERS.BBS file.
    ;-)

                         *** IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS ***

Seriously, there's NO way the program can trash your USERS.BBS,
because it DOESN'T USE IT ! First, it makes a copy of the file, not
just a <RENAME>. And it uses that backup as a work file. In the end,
AFTER the new packed and sorted user file is succesfully written to
disk, the work file is erased, and your untouched original USERS.BBS is
renamed to USERS.BAK. So, you can be assured that ABSOLUTLY NOTHING
can make your USERS.BBS vanish from your hard drive.

         - PACKSORT.EXE The main program.
         - SYSOP.ENG Your reading it. (english)
         - WHATS.NEW Updates and bug reports

    ─────HOW─TO─GET─THIS─THING─RUNNING────────────────────────────────

As a fellow SysOp, I know that a short and sweet documentation is
necessary to our mental health. Again, a recent scientific study has
shown that 9 out of 10 SysOps try to use a program without reading the
docs... Please read on, it's for your own good !

Simply run PACKSORT.EXE from your Quickbbs directory. For a list
of all command line parameters available, simply run PACKSORT ?.
