The EDIT command can be used to edit an existing public message on the
current subboard. You may only edit a message which you posted; subsysops
can edit any message on their respective sub-boards, and sysops, of course,
can edit any message in the system.
EDIT allows you to assign "protected" status to a message. Protected
messages will not be deleted during a mass message purge. However, a
protected message can still be deleted individually with KILL.
