If the ability to accept VISA, MASTERCARD, CARTE BLANCHE, DINER'S CLUB,
and JCB cards sounds appealing, read on!
Teleflora CreditLine, a 3rd party credit card processor wants to do
business with you. We are actively seeking sysops and ShareWare authors
to join our established base of thousands of small businesses.
If you have investigated credit cards before, don't be discouraged! We
know your business is out of your home! We know all your orders are
over the phone!
THAT'S OK WITH US.
Here's what we can do for you:
-> Process Visa & MC at discount rates from 2.25% to 3.1%, depending
on the payment options YOU select. Other cards range from 3.25%
to 4% (this is the amount of each transaction that is our fee).
-> Your choice of payment options, either electronic deposit to your
checking account or a check sent every two weeks.
-> Customers credit card statements will have the name of =YOUR= BBS
or ShareWare company.
-> If you have a merchant account with American Express, we can make
arrangements for you to use that through your credit card terminal
as well. Your discount rates and payment type/schedule will still
be strictly between you and American Express, however.
-> No minimum volume requirements! (Actually, if your volume is
high, you may qualify for EVEN LOWER rate options).
Here's what it costs (TANSTAAFL, but we try!):
-> There is a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE application fee. If your
application is not approved, this fee is NOT returned. See below
for details on our approval guidelines and requirements, so we can
try to avoid any surprises here.
-> There is a small percentage of each transaction that we take out
before paying you. This varies by card type and your choice of
payment option.
-> There may be a transaction fee of $.25 for each transaction
regardless of dollar amount or card type. This is included with
our lower rate options.
-> A Verifone credit card terminal is required. We sell Tranz 330's
for either a $475.00 one-time payment or at $17.95/month for 48
months. For the lease program, there is also a $25 REFUNDABLE
deposit and at the end of the lease program, you OWN the machine
(and get your $25 back!).
Either way, the machine comes with a 4 year warranty. If it stops
working, we'll send you a replacement, and your only cost is
shipping it out to you (currently $8 for overnight service).
We also have Verifone 250 printers available under the exact same
terms. These automatically print receipts for you and make some
of the reports MUCH easier to use. They are an option, though,
only the terminal is a must.
We will also bill you for the shipping cost to send the machine(s)
out to you, so YOU can decide if you want it sent overnight,
2-day, or ground.
If you have your own Zon Jr. XL, XL 300, or Tranz 330 terminal, we
can reprogram that. In that case, there is only a $25.00 download
fee, and, of course, the machine is not warranteed by us.
Here's what we're looking for:
-> An established BBS or ShareWare author/company. We will want to
verify that you have been in operation at LEAST 6 months.
-> For a BBS, we will want your access phone numbers, hours of
operation, and supported connect rates (2400bps, V.32, HST, etc.).
If new callers are severely restricted, we will need to arrange
access so that we may log on and take a look around!
-> For ShareWare, we will need to see the programs that you offer. A
description and filename should be enough, but please provide a
KNOWN source in case we have difficulty finding the program(s)
locally.
-> Good personal credit. Since most BBS's and ShareWare programs are
not a primary source of income, we will be using your personal
credit as a reference. Judgements, tax liens, and unpaid accounts
will almost certainly get your application DECLINED.
-> You must be at least 18 years old.
-> At this time, you must be U.S. based. You will be able to accept
cards issued by foreign banks, but we are only permitted to handle
merchants in the U.S.
-> We will not be able to handle 'adult' boards (or ShareWare). This
requirement becomes very subjective, so if you are concerned that
it may apply, please give us info to access your board or program,
and we'll let you know BEFORE you apply (and shell out $100).
Basically, if 'X' rated GIF's are permitted, you will not be
approved. If your board is primarily 'adult' conferences and
files, you will not be approved. If a =small= portion is adult
related (and nothing very explicit), there should not be a
problem.
