To set up M.A.R.S. there are a couple things you will need to do.
1) Set it up on a menu something like the following:

2) Set up the Ghost Task (Optional)
You can set it up to reindex daily, reset items, restock stores, and clean
out old players at startup. If not all these things can be done thru a menu
built into the game.
Whether you run the task or want to do these maintenance rountines manually
you must get to know the SYSOP/HIGH AVATAR menu in the game. Go into the game
and follow the instuctions to make a character. Then type SYS to enter the
menu. Go down to option 6 which is for 255's only and hit ENTER. You will be
asked if you want to edit the task settings. If you are going to run the
Ghost Task hit Y for yes. You will have to set a couple things.
REINDEX DAILY: Mark this T for true if you want it to reindex the databases
at startup.
RESTOCK DAILY: Mark this T for true if you want it restock the stores with-
in the game at startup.
RESET DAILY: Mark this T for true if you want it to reset any items in
quests that are needed and reset stationary npcs which do not
on their own.
CLEAN OUT OLD PLAYERS: Mark this T for true if you want it to clean out old
players who havent played in so many days.
CLEAN OUT OLD PLAYERS BACK ## DAYS: Insert the number for the number of days
back you want it to start cleaning out
old players. (Ex:20 would delete any
players who havn't played
in 20 days)
Then you will see an option to put in a USER ID of anyone whom which you want
to have access to the menu before this option. Thus giving them the ability to
edit and create RACES, CLASSES, RESETABLES, and to REINDEX, RESTOCK, RESET
and CLEAN OUT PLAYERS. They will not have access to this 255 only option you
are in now.
When setting up Avatars for working and building, edit their PRIVILEGE with
*'s depending on what you want them to be able to do. This would be in the
edit screen. To find the individual's character just type SH (THEIR HANDLE)
This will bring up a list of all the characters used by this handle. Now you
need the first number in the row with the character's name. Hit S to stop
the listing then at the command prompt type EC ##, where the ## is the number
you just found in the handle listing. This will bring up the edit screen with
this characters information. Now edit the PRIVILEGE field accordingly. Here is
a chart showing what each * allows. Each allowing the ability to create and
edit where possible.
