Arnet has introduced 25- and 33-MHz 80386-based systems in tower
configurations. Each includes eight half-height bays and eight
add-in slots: one 8-bit, one 32-bit, and six 16-bit). Each 80386
includes a 64K-byte cache, while the 80486 will include 72K bytes
of cache including the 8K of cache that's standard with the 80486
microprocessor. Power is 250 watts.
A basic 25-MHz 80386-based system would be configured for SCO
Unix (which isn't included in the price), according to Arnet.
What is included in that base system is 4 megabytes of RAM
(expandable to 16), a 150-megabyte ESDI drive, a 150-megabyte
tape drive, a 12-inch monochrome monitor, a 5.25-inch
1.2-megabyte floppy-disk drive, a single parallel port, 18 serial
ports, and a 101-key keyboard.
Price: Base SCO system, $8506.
