Changes to ESC key in File Viewer
---------------------------------
In several places in the manual it indicates that you should use
the ESC key to move from file to file when reading multiple files.
This has changed. QuickSearch now uses the PLUS key to move from
file to file and uses the ESC key to exit the file viewer and return
to the file selection list (or pick list).
If only one file is selected, or if you are viewing the last of
several selected files, then pressing either the PLUS key or the
ESC key will exit from the file and return to the pick list.
In all other cases, pressing the PLUS key moves you to the next
file, while pressing the ESC key will prompt you to exit the file
viewer and return to the pick list. You do not need to press SHIFT
when pressing the PLUS key.
Known Problems - March 27th, 1994
---------------------------------
In QuickIndex, the /NEW parameter only works with 8 character filenames.
This problem will be fixed in QuickSearch 1.5 (the problem is actually in
QUICK.EXE but shows up when using the /NEW parameter with INDEX.EXE).
QOL Software should be beta testing QuickSearch 1.5 by the 2nd week of
April. If you would like to get the upgraded software as soon as possible,
please contact us by one of the methods listed at the end of this file.
Corrections to the Manual
-------------------------
The top of Pg 30 in the QuickSearch 1.4 manual contains a typographical
error. The third line in the sample program should read:
if position > 0 && found it
Also, on Pg 32 all references to "/F:" should say "/T:". We apologize for
any inconvenience these errors might have caused.
QOL Software will periodically release upgrades to FETCH and to the
demonstration program CALLQS. If you are interested in interfacing to
QuickSearch from an external TDBS program, you should look for these
upgrades on the eSoft Support BBS.
