search backwards from the present text string for the first
string which contains this text fragment.

You are using the TBBS Language File Editor Version 2.3. This is
the program you use to translate or customize TBBS internal text.
The F1 help key is fully context sensitive. Use it at any field
or dialog box to obtain information on that item.
This program allows mouse control of all of its features. All
status line indicators are "mouse active" as are all edit fields,
menu items, action line entries, and dialog box buttons.
To begin editing a language file you should select "File" then
load from the menus to load a file to edit.

Load a Language File
This command allows you to load a TBBS language file for editing.
Select this entry, then enter the file's name. If you do not
specify a file path, then the current directory followed by those
directories listed in the SET TBBSPATH= DOS command (if any) are
checked. If you specify a drive and directory that is all that
will be searched.
If you don't specify a file extension, ".LNG" will be assumed.
Save a Language File
This command allows you to save a TBBS language file after you
have changed its contents.
Select this entry, then enter the file's name. You will be
presented with the file name you loaded. You may edit this name
as you wish to save to an alternate file name.
If you do not specify a file path, then the current directory
followed by those directories listed in the SET TBBSPATH= DOS
command (if any) are checked. If you specify a drive and
directory that is all that will be searched.
If you don't specify a file ext, ".LNG" will be assumed.
Quit the Language File Editor
This option will exit the language file editor. If a file has
been loaded, you will be given the option to save it before you
exit.
Write Help File (/M Maint Mode Only)
This option will write a file named EDLANG.MSG which contains
a segment of help file input for each text string with the help
number and text string as the help file. It allows a starting
point for help file creation.
Forward Search
This option allows you to search for the next text record which
has a text fragment you specify.
Reverse Search
This option allows you to search for the previous text record
which has a text fragment you specify.
List/Edit Current Record
This option will position you to view or edit the current text
record. It is used to re-enter editing when you have exited
to the menu level.
Beginning of File
This option will position you to the first text record in the
language file you have loaded.
End of File
This option will position you to the last text record in the
language file you have loaded.
Go To Record
This option will allow you to specify a text record in the
language file you now have open. You will be positioned to
the text record you specify.
Displayed when system desires yes/no confirmation of user input
at logon.
Displayed when user actually types the letters "CR" instead of
understanding that when the system prompts <CR> it means
"carriage return." Message explains that <CR> means carriage
return and to press the Enter or Return key instead of the
letters "CR" when prompted.
NOTE: This prompt is obsolete. It is used only with logon
format 0, which is supported only for upgrades from previous
versions, and cannot be used for new installations.
Displayed if the password entered cannot be located after
three attempts.
Displayed when new user is prompted to enter a password. Ex-
plains that password is 1 to 8 characters in length; that the
password may be case sensitive; that the password may contain
embedded blanks; and to REMEMBER the password. Also should
prompt user for his password selection at the end of this
message.
Displayed to callers at logon when an external event is pending,
and says to try calling the system back later.
Displayed when logon ID format 1 is in use, and when ENQ auto-
logon poll is enabled (see CEDIT, LOGON FORMAT OPTIONS for these
settings). Prompts user to enter their first name.
Displayed when logon ID format 1 is in use, and when ENQ auto-

userlog, and when the system is configured not to request

Displayed when TBBS is searching the user file for a particular
user account. Displayed only when enabled in CEDIT; see
LOGON FORMAT OPTIONS.
Displayed when logon ID format 1 is in use. Prompts user to
enter their last name.
