This command operates on one or more menu entries. You are not
currently editing any menu. As a result this command may not
be used now. You must first edit a menu before there are any
entries available for this command to operate upon.
If you answer "Yes" this entry will be deleted.
If you answer "No" this entry will remain as it was.
If you select "No" any changes you have made to this menu will
be discarded.
If you select "Yes" any changes you have made to this menu will
be saved.
If you select "Resume" you will resume your editing session as it
was before you reached this point.
You are using the TBBS Menu File Editor (MEDIT) Version 2.3. This
program is used to build and change menu control files. You may
also use the SDL compiler for this function (see user manual).
The F1 help key is fully context sensitive. Use it at any field
or dialog box to obtain information on that item.
This program allows mouse control of all of its features. All
status line indicators are "mouse active" as are all edit fields,
menu items, action line entries, and dialog box buttons.

Edit a menu
This selection allows you to edit an existing menu control file.
Once you are viewing, you may use the Page Up and Page Down keys
to view all menu entries.
You may choose to edit the entry you are viewing. To do so press
the F2 key while viewing the entry.
Create a menu
This selection allows you to create a new menu control file. You
add entries to make the file.
Save a menu
This command will save an edited menu file back to disk.
Save a menu as ...
This command will save a menu control file to disk with a new
name. It is used to copy a menu file to a new name during
editing.
Quit the MEDIT Program
This option will exit the Menu Editor. If you are editing a menu
file you will be asked if you wish to save it.
Listing Menu Entries
You are now listing the menu's entries. The status line at the
bottom of the screen gives the information about total menu
contents. The menu Entry number you are viewing is shown at the
top. The "Text Block" shows the display text (if any) which is
associated with this entry.
The "Access Control" section shows what access settings are
required to see and use this entry.
The "Command" section shows the key a user must press to select
this entry and the Type= plus Opt Data= fields show
what command will be executed if this entry is selected.
List Menu with option to Edit
This option allows you to re-enter the list/edit of the current
menu. You will be positioned to the current entry and may use
the page up and page down keys to view any menu entry you wish.
On any entry you may press the F2 key and edit that entry.
Menu Text Entry
This field is the text which will be displayed by this entry if
the user qualifies for it based on the access control entry. The
maximum length of text here is 600 characters. If you wish to
place control characters in the text, preceed them with a ^. Two
^ in a row is a single ^ character.
Note: You may place the display text in a file by placing only
the file name enclosed in curly braces here. Example:
{D:\MENUS\MEN1.TXT}
In this case the length of the text is unlimited.
Access Priv
To qualify for access to this menu entry the user must have a
priv level of this value (or higher) set in their userlog.
Access Control Flags
Any flag you set here to an "X" or a "." must be matched exactly
by the same flag in the user's userlog record. Any flag you set
here to a dash "-" may be either setting in the userlog.
A user must match all specified access flags exactly in order to
qualify to see and use this menu entry.
IBM Graphics Configured
If you set this flag to a "X" then the user must have Graphics=Y
configured in the userlog. If you set it to "." then Graphics=N
is required to see and use this menu entry. If you set this flag
to a dash "-" then the Graphics configuration does not affect
access to this menu entry.
ANSI Configured
If you set this flag to a "X" then the user must have ANSI=Y
configured in the userlog. If you set it to "." then ANSI=N
is required to see and use this menu entry. If you set this
flag to a dash "-" then the ANSI configuration does not affect
access to this menu entry.
Activation Key Value
This entry indicates the key the user must press to activate this
menu entry.
Note: KEY=^@ (press @ while holding Ctrl) indicates that this is
an "auto-execute" menu entry which will happen automatically if
the user qualifies for it.
Note: KEY=? indicates this is a "text only" menu entry which will
never execute.
Menu Command Type
This value is the menu command which TBBS will execute when this
menu item is selected. See chapter 6 of your TBBS manual for a
description of TBBS menu command types.
Menu Command Opt Data
This field holds any optional information (such as a file
directory) which the selected menu command type may require
to operate. If the command requires no Opt Data field then
anything may be placed here.
View Menu
This option allows you to view the menu you are editing as it
will appear online. The display is given for a user with the
access level you have set in the "Set level" command (below
on this menu).
Print Menu
This option will print the current menu showing all of its
elements.
Set level
This option allows you to set the access level you would like the
"View Menu" command to use when displaying the menu.
Set Level - Priv
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this PRIV level set in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - A1
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this A1 flag setting in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - A2
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this A2 flag setting in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - A3
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this A3 flag setting in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - A4
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this A4 flag setting in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - IBM Graphics
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this IBM flag setting in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - ANSI codes
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this ANS flag setting in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - Expert Level
The view command will assume the "user" viewing this menu has
this Expert Level set in the userlog record when it chooses which
menu entries will qualify for display.
Set Level - "Command:" on ANS
The view command will assume that the CEDIT menu format options
screen has the "Suppress Command: on ANS" set this way when it
displays the menu.
Change Menu Title
This option allows you to change the menu's title text. Each
menu may have a title which is always displayed to all users.
If you wish menus to have an "effective title" which changes
based on the user's access settings, then you may not use this
general title. In that case, leave this title empty and use
text only menu entries to provide the title text for each
set of user access conditions you desire.
Set Billing Class
This option allows you to set the billing class of the current
menu to a number from 0-9.
Add an entry
This option will add an entry at the end of the menu and position
you to the edit screen to fill in the entry.
Move an entry
This option will allow you to move an entry to a new location
within the menu control file.
Note: You should specify both the source and destination entry
number based on the current menu entry numbers even though the
destination entry number may change after the move. MEDIT will
compensate for this.
Note: Move after entry 0 places an entry at the front.
Insert an entry
This option will insert an entry into the menu at the location
you specify. It will then position you to the edit screen to
fill in the entry.
Note: Insert after 0 places the new entry at the front.
Delete an entry
This option allows you to delete the entry you choose from the
current menu control file.
