The Blue Wave Mail Door incorporates a very powerful feature, the Blue
Wave Bundling Commands, to let you, the user, pick and choose your mail
quite selectively. The result is savings in on-line time and even the
time you spend reading your mail. Let the Blue Wave Mail Door do your
work for you!
The Blue Wave Mail Door defaults to downloading ALL NEW mail in your
selected areas. The following bundling commands only MODIFY the defaults.
`!' : Use at the END of a bundling command to notify the door NOT to
prompt for more bundling commands. If a ! is not used on a command
line, a new total will be calculated and displayed, and the door
is ready to accept more commands.
`-' : Use the - character to SUBTRACT an area from those that have
scanned. If you - an area, the Blue Wave Mail Door will default
to NOT UPDATING your message pointers. The special keyword ALL or *
after a - indicates to SUBTRACT ALL AREAS!
Examples:
-14 -25 (deselects ONLY areas 14 and 25--Bundle the rest!)
-ALL or (deselects ALL areas scanned. Use the + commands to
-* selectively turn the areas back on.)
{PAUSE}
`+' : Use the + character AFTER using the - character to RESELECT an
area. This command is especially useful when you are
scanning MANY areas, but want to download just a few. Sorry,
but you may NOT ADD an area with a + command if it is not being
scanned.
Examples:
-14 -25 -2 -20 +14 (Oops..I want area 14, but don't want to retype)
-* +22 +48 (Subtract all areas, then add 22 and 48 to bundle)
`P' : Takes PERSONAL mail only in an area. If you use the P option,
only messages addressed to your LOGIN name and your REAL name
will be bundled for the area. To download ONLY personal mail,
you could use a Pall or P*.
Examples:
-all +14 P2 (Subtract all areas, add 14, and PERSONAL ONLY in 2)
P* or Pall (Personal only in ALL areas)
`A' : Takes PERSONAL mail plus messages addressed to "All" in an area.
All other messages in the message area are skipped.
Example:
A14 A17 (D/load all new msgs except area 14 and 17)
A* (Only download personal and msgs to "All" in ALL areas)

`K' : Takes KEYWORDS only in an area. You may define keywords from the
Blue Wave Mail Door's Configuration Menu. If the message FROM:,
TO:, or SUBJ: fields contain a keyword that is defined, the K
command will bundle the message. Since, in most cases, you will
want to download PERSONAL and KEYWORD mail, the K command by itself
takes both personal and keywords. Please do not use something like
'K10 P10'. It is unnecessary!
Examples:
-ALL K4 K19 (Subtract all areas, and d/l KEYWORDS ONLY in 4 and 19)
K4 (Simply download all mail, but ONLY KEYWORDS in area 4)
K* or Kall (Download ONLY keywords in ALL areas)
`F' : The F command will FILTER messages based on those you have defined
from the Blue Wave Mail Door's Configuration Menu. If you have
'JOE COOL' defined as a filter then the door would *not* bundle
any messages with JOE COOL in the TO, FROM, or SUBJ fields.
Examples:
F2 F20 (Filter out messages in areas 2 and 20)
F* or Fall (Filter out messages in ALL AREAS!)

`L' : The L command takes 2 parameters. By using the command 2L10, you
would tell the Blue Wave Mail Door to bundle area #2, but ONLY
the LAST 10 messages. It extremely useful when trying out a new
base to download. If the sysop keeps several hundred messages in
an area, you may use the L command to eliminate downloading ALL of
the messages, but just a few to get a taste of the conference.
NOTE:
This command *will* update your message pointers for the area. If
you do *not* wish to update your pointer with the L command, please
see the 'N' option.
Examples:
-24 18L30 (subtracts area 24, and d/l only 30 msgs in #18)
18L30 n18 (d/l last 30 messages in #18, but don't update pointer)
`B' : This command performs similarly to the 'L' command described
above, but it allows you to download the FIRST xx number of
messages after your lastread pointer. If the message scan shows
that there are 1000 new messages in area 17, you could specify
"17B500" to grab the first 1000 of them. Then at a later time
you could re-download the rest of the messages.
Example:
-22 99B23 (subtracts area 22, and d/l 23 new msgs in area 99)

`N' : The N command deals strictly with message pointers. The N command
can be used selectively by area to N)ot update your pointers, or
globally with the ALL or * commands. Please use the N command with
discretion. If used incorrectly, your pointers will never be
updated, and you will be downloading the same mail every day!
Examples:
n* or Nall (No update of your message pointers in all areas)
2L10 n10 (10 new messages in area 2, don't update pointers)
`U' : The U command does the reverse of the N command. It will U)pdate
your message pointers for an area either selectively or globally.
Normally this command would not be used, since the Blue Wave Mail
Door defaults to updating your pointers in all areas that you have
downloaded.
Examples:
n* u12 (Don't update any pointers, except in area #12)
n* u* (A U* simply nulls the effect of an N*.)

'M' : The M command tells The Blue Wave Mail Door to use the macro
number you have defined in the Configuration Menu of the door.
Examples:
M1 (Use Macro #1 as the bundling command)
M3 (Use Macro #3 as the bundling command)
'E' : Use the E command to E)rase all previous bundling commands, and
return to the original state before the door processed any
bundling commands.
Press 'R' at the Blue Wave Bundling Command prompt to RELIST the Scan
Table.
