[ DRumor v1.0 - Rumor file rumor deleter for T.A.G. v2.6 and above ]
(c) March 1994 - Author: Paul Deeds - All Rights Reserved
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
PURPOSE: This program allows users to remove quotes from quote files
~~~~~~~ created using RUMOR20.ZIP.
Usage: DRUMOR <configuration file name>
STEP BY STEP SETUP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Copy the DRUMOR.CFG, DRUMOR.EXE, and all the *.MSG files into the
directory you want to run them from. The message files are copied
to the file pointed to by line 3 of your configuration file.
These files must be located in the same directory as DRUMOR.EXE:
DR-ERR.MSG - An unexpected error has occured.
DR-NOMTC.MSG - A matching quote couldn't be found.
DR-DONE.MSG - Quote sucessfully removed.
DR-SHORT.MSG - Input string too short.
DR-NTYRS.MSG - Quote found but it wasn't removed
because it was not created by the
user that is trying to delete it.
Copy DRUMRQ.MSG into your AFILES directory.
Copy DRUMOR.BAT into your MAIN BBS directory and edit it.
DRUMOR returns errorlevel 0 if the rumor file needs to be
reprocessed (that is, it has been sucessfully changed.) otherwise
it returns 1.
2. Edit the DRUMOR.CFG file, the explantion of each of the lines is
contained at length in the configuration file.
3. Add three commands to a menu as follows:
A) Pkey: "?" This command asks the user to enter
PData: @DRUMRQ.MSG the first few words of the quote they
want to delete.
This command needs
to be linked to
the next command.
B) Pkey: ":" This command should be linked from
Pdata: DRUMOR DRUMOR.CFG command (A), it shells to DOS and
processes the rumor file.
This command needs
to hidden and
linked to the next
command.
C) Pkey: "!" This command show the user the result
Pdata: RETURN.MSG of his command.
4. Test everything out, if it didn't work you did something wrong, go
back to step #1 and check your work.
SUPPORT/QUESTIONS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you have any questions I can be reached in the T.A.G. echos on the
fidonet. I no longer operate a bulletin board system because I am living
in a dorm. This program is freeware, but being a college student I could
certainly use any money that you feel you can afford to donate to help
defer the costs of long distance distribution, computer upgrades,
programming software, etc. I am up to doing custom changes if there is
any feature you would like changed for you own use. This is my address:
I am a fairly regular caller on A*R*T*H*U*R, so you can drop me a message
there (Username: DIRTY).
OTHER T.A.G. UTILITIES BY ME
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CWHO10.ZIP - Allows you to view your USERON.BBS file and to view and
~~~~~~~~~~ modify the important fields of you r $WHO.DAT file,
including username, city/state, extended description,
baud rate, and the "available for chat" and "in group
chat" flags; all from the command line.
USAGE10.ZIP - Combines two or more USAGE.LOG files into a single file
~~~~~~~~~~~ for easier viewing on multi-node systems.
TRIMLOG.ZIP - Removes all "KB" logons from you CALLERS.LOG file. It
~~~~~~~~~~~ will not add any colors, or change the file in any
other way. This is good to run before NICELOG to
remove all those local logons that let users know you
are nearby despite what your chat flag might say.
NICELOG.ZIP - Converts your drab CALLERS.LOG file into an exciting
~~~~~~~~~~~ full screen ansi. It reads the last ## callers from
your CALLERS.LOG file, inverts their order, and places
them in an ansi screen of your design (or one of the
included models).
RUMOR20.ZIP - Converts T.A.G. v2.6 questionarre answer files to
~~~~~~~~~~~ T.A.G. v2.6 format quotation file and an attractive
user viewable file of all the quotes. This allows users
to quickly add to your rumor or quote file using built
in T.A.G. system commands.
TAGLIST7.ZIP - ** Coming Soon ** The first update to the Downloader's
Look for them on a T.A.G. Site near you. They should always be
