CALL-LOG 3.0 (C) 1991 Anonymous Enterprises
Disclaimer:
This Program is designed to do nothing but take up space (but not all
that much). The user of this program is responsable for any damage done
to his or her system and the author of this program is in no way
responsable for anything caused by this program. By running this program you
agree to the above.
What it does:
CALL-LOG is a program for TAG BBSs to make a log of who called, and records
their first name, last name (which may be handles), baud rate, and time called
(24 hour format) in a text file named CALLS.LOG which must be in the same
directory as CLOG-30.COM. TAG has a nasty habit of sometimes not recording
that a person called if they hungup early. This program is executed in
the LOGON.BAT file found in the TAG main directory.
Usage:
Add the following line to your LOGON.BAT file, or, if you dont have one yet,
use the enclosed LOGON.BAT file:
CLOG-30 %4 %5 %1
Sound:
In past versions, CALL-LOG supported a sound option. This version does NOT
support sound, as there is now a separate program entitled CHARGE.EXE that
will play a "charge" from the computer speaker to let you know that a user has
logged on to your BBS. It is helpful for BBSs that are not hooked up to an
external phone to hear the ring. Many sysops in my area liked the sound
feature, so I kept the idea and made a separate program out of it.
Enclosed files:
The following files should be in this archive:
CLOG-30.DOC - You're reading it stupid!
CLOG-30.EXE - Executable file
LOGON.BAT - Sample LOGON.BAT file
CALLS.LOG - Text file that CALL-LOG will write to
MAINT.COM - Runs nightly to let you know where days callers start/end.
MAINT.COM - This is a file that should be run every night at midnight as a SOFT
event to add a line to the CALLS.LOG file telling you that these calls
happenned on this day.
A batch file for this might be:
cd\bbs
maint
exit
Just dump all of these files into your main BBS directory. This can be any
name, it doesnt matter, but it must be your main BBS dir.
The main files are EXTREMELY small, as there is not much to do. If you have
trouble with these files, please contact me on my BBS at (412) 653-4711
3/12/24/48/96/14.4k HST bauds (sorry, no v.32) or at FidoNet address 1:129/154.
Support also in the TAG and TAG_DOORS echos.
Registration:
Registration is a mere $5. You will not get a special "registerred" version,
but you WILL get the next version shipped to you on a 5.25" low density disk
when it is available. The fee will also encourage me to write other handy TAG
utilities, to make your day a lot easier.
Send check for $5 to:

History:
7/30/91 - v1.0 Basic program, just writes to file. Released to a few local
BBSs
7/31/91 - v2.0 Added color screen and sound. Also compiled 2 versions, one
with sound, one without.
7/31/91 - v2.1 Modified method of writing to CALLS.LOG. Small change.
Added MAINT.COM program. A whole 30 sec there...:-)
8/1/91 - v2.2 Combined OFF and ON COM files and /S/R option into one .COM
file. Easier setup.
xx/xx/xx - v2.2a OOPS! BIG mistake in 2.2. realized after release. (approx
1 day)
10/20/91 - v3.0 FAST! Re-written in Pascal. About 10 times faster than with
"Plague" language. Also, now writes time of call to
CALLS.LOG.
