** Changes in this version have not yet been made to CZSETUP.

Again, Sorry for the long delay between betas.
* CZip will now reset the colors to normal DOS colors, Even if the Status
Screen is disabled.
* Added support for "StripAV", A utility which strips -AV data from ZIP
files, I have no idea who the autor of this program is. I have
included STRIPAV.EXE in this archive.
* Added support for ZDCS (Zipfile duplicate checking system), This
has not been added to CZSETUP.
To use ZDCS edit your .cfg file and change the ZDCSActive= and
ZDCSCommand=
* Added option to append FILE_ID.DIZ/DESC.SDI/ETC. to your comment file
up to 9 "DIZ" files may be specifyed. This also has not been put
in CZSETUP, Edit thie config file.
* Removed "Add -AV Tags" togggle from CZSetup, To use -AV tages simply
plave "-!" on the "ZipAdd" command line. If you are using PKZip 2.04
the -AV option is Different, Do not try and use -AV tages with the new
zip.
* All command lines that CZip calls are now user editable, They are the
vary last lines in CZIP.CFG, and Should be self explanitory.. I haven't
had the time to update CZSETUP for this chnge, So for now you'll have to
edit CZIP.CFG.
* CZip will now desplay the command line it is executing on the top of the
screen, This should make it easier for you to debug your command lines.
* Added some parameters that can be placed on the FILES.BBS description
line for BAD/OLD/VIRUS dirs
$N - Uploaders Name
$D - Date Uploaded
* Fixed problem where CZip would not use the workdrive
* CZSETUP is now DesqView aware, It SHOULD now work correctully with DV
loaded. If you still have problems let me know.
* Fixed Lockup problem when a user drops carrier
Changes From v2 Beta 6 To Beta 7
Sorry for the VERY long delay between 6 and 7, With XMas/New Years/Work/Etc. I
haven't been able to find much time. I'll try to get the next ones out a little
quicker :)
To help keep everyone informed of changes/bugs/etc. we have set up an
echo area. To request this echo please send a message to Areafix on
File Cabinet (1:2210/978) with the session pw CZIP in the subject line and
in the body of the message use +CZBETA
This echo my be made availabe to all of your users for comments/problems/etc.
* I'd like to say Hello and Thanks To The RABETA testers who will be
receving this and future releases.
* Update archives routines to work with the new PKZip v2.04c.
* I have still been unable to find the problem with SHARE and internal
archives, SO for a tempary fix CZip will NOT remove the \CZTEMP.xx
directory when SHARE is installed. To erase this directory you can
either delete it manualy after CZip exists or the next time CZip runs it
will remove it.
* If carrier is lost during testing, CZip will now take the modem
offhook.
* The -S (ScreenSave/Restore) is NOT finished, Please Do not use it!
This option, when finished, will Save the screen/colors/cursor pos
and restore it when CZip exits.
* Added option to disable date checking of internal files.
* Fixed problem in CZSetup that would not allow you to disable swapping.
* CZip will now reset the color to the normal dos colors before exiting.
* CZip will no longer extract comments from internal archives.
* CZip will now clear the keyboard buffer before exiting.
* I've heard of a few problems with the Archive converting anyone thats using
it and having problems please tell me again.. (My memory isn't very good)
Changes From v2 Beta 5 To Beta 6
* :( Did we all enjoy beta-5? Sorry about that, I think i need to do a
bit more testing before releasing these things.....
* Fixed the nasty bug that caused CZip not to Add/Comment archives.
* Changed work drive option, Sence CZip extracts all files from archives
before scanning CZip will check the work drive for TWICE the space of
the file. CZip will also now not check work drive space for internal
files. This SHOULD clear up a few errors.
* Fixed the ILLEGIAL FUNCTION CALL in CZsetup
* When using ANSI parm $N (callers full name) CZip will now put a
space between the users First and Last names.
READ->* There Is A Problem With Internal Files, I have not been able to
produce this problem on my system. It shows up when an internal
ARJ is found inside a ZIP (i'm not sure if thats the only combination)
PLEASE See if you can reproduce this and let me know what combinanations
cause it, So i can fix it. Thanks!

* Fixed That God Damn Wrong Colered CheckMark!!!! (I think this one was
the hardest to find!)
* Fixed Bug That Would Not Let You Turn Off Fossil Support If It Had Been
Enabled.
* Fixed Bug That Would Cause CZip To Hang If A Wildcard Search Resuled In
More Then 300 Files.
* Fixed Bug That Caused "ERROR!" To Show In The Log For The Month
* Fixed a bug that caused the Widcard searchs not to work.
* Added 'Strip Comment' Option, If enabled CZip will remove the comment
from the archive. DO NOT ENABLE IF USING A COMMENT FILE!
* Fixed problem with logfile only having the users first name in the
'Uploaded By:' line.
* The FOSSIL routines are finished and ready for testing! :)
CZSetup's COM Port setup has NO effect when using a fossil!
* Added some parameters to 'Exit Before Add'

* Fixed problem with command line reading, If a file, for example,
CAS2-FIX.ZIP was specifyed CZip would read: IX.ZIP for the test file
becase of the -F.
* Someone reported a problem with Archive Coments not working, I haven't
been able to reproduce this... Any one else having problems???
Changes From v2 Beta 3 To Beta 4
* Changed error display if user enters invalid options from the command
line
* Changed Virus Scan, Now all files will be extracted to the temp directory
during the CRC test and SCAN will be run on all the files. (Scan path has
been moved to compression setup in CZSetup).
* If 'Action on exit' is set to 'Errorlevels' CZip will no longer move the
failed file.
* Fixed bug in moveing failed files.
* Added option to set the archives date to the most recest date in the
archive (Set Date To Newest In CZSetup)
* Added option for CZip to create Archive Comments, If you use "CREATE"
as the name of your comment file CZip will process "ARCHIVE.CMT" in the
direcotry with CZIP.EXE. ARCHIVE.CMT should contain your comment file
and the following replacable parms are valid:
$U Uploaders Name (If using drop files)
$V Version of CZip used for testing
$D Date Tested (MM-DD-YY)
$T Total Files In Archive
$N Date of Newest File (MM-DD-YY)
$O Date Of Oldest File (MM-DD-YY)
Notes On Replacable Parms:
1) You must leave enough space after each parameter for it's information.
2) Do NOT Change colors until you are sure there is enough space after
the parm.
3) The color you use for the parameter will be the color of the info.

* If An Archive Contains An Even Number Of New And Old Files The Archive
Will No Longer Fail.

* Added an option to totaly disable the ending 'Archive Status Screen'
* Added option in CZSetup/Converter Setup. Pressing F1 will now ask for
a path to CDF Files (Converter Data File), These files will contain
info. about archive converters and allow you to Pick a converter from
the list. (See STRUCT.CDF For File Structure)
* Fixed Bug With Internal Archives and WorkDrive, When a work drive was
specifyed and an internal file was found CZip would hang.
* Removed the annoying "Multiple Files Detected." Logfile entry.
* Changed Date Checking, You Now specify the number of days old a file may
be. No more Month/Year. EX: If you don't want to except files over 3
months old set this to 90.
* If Using a drop file, CZip will now put "Uploaded By:" in the log file
and comment file.
* Added 'Comment Log' option, If specifyed CZip will extract archive
comments to this file. (ZIP/ARJ only)
* Fixed possible problem with ANSI not displaying.
* If during date testing if CZip finds a 0 byte file it will NOT count
it in the date check. (Most 0 byte files are either BBS ads or volume
labels)
* Fixed date check problem, If CZip found a file with no date/time it
would cause a varity of errors.
* Fixed problem with reading DOOR.SYS
* Fixed problem in CZSetup that would no allow you to enter a
'Unwanted' list.

Sorry about the mixup with the magic names on File Cabinet, In case you didn't
get the word, The newest beta version can be requested with the Magic name
"BETA" and the latest release version is available under the magic name
"CZIP".
* Anyone that was/is still having problems with the Date Checking please
send me your configuration files.
* Added an option that allows the user to specify a "Work Drive", This
drive may be a RamDrive, The work drive will be used anytime CZip needs
to extract files from the archive(s). CZip will get the test files size
and check to see if there is at least that amount open the the WorkDrive
If there is not enough free space on this drive The current default drive
will be used. * PLEASE TEST THIS OPTION CAREFULLY! *
* Removed the overlay routines, They where causing some intersting problems
Although it's no longer overlayed it will still only require 230K to run,
It also no longer needs to be on the path.
* Anyone tryed using the Fossil?, Does anyone see a need for Fossil
Support? If not, I'll remove it and work on sompthig else.
* Fixed a problem with -AV Tagging, If Tagging was enabled then disabled
CZip would still add the -av's to the .zip
* NOTE: The Replacable Parm NODE ($N) Is NOT Read From The Drop File,
It is from the /N command line switch!
* Added Support For PCBOARD.SYS and DOOR.SYS, Insted of only DORINFO1.DEF

The Callers Time Left, It Has Been Changed To $T
* Corrected some minor ANSI problems, When CZip found an internal
archive, The line in the status box would wrap.
* Added a 3rd way for CZip to find it's config file, If the config
file was not specifyed on the command line, or with the enviroment
var. CZip will now find it's home directory and attempt to use
CZIP.CFG from that directory. This should clear up some space
on the command line.
* Corrected the problem with SCAN.EXE (again), SCAN would not be
executed unless the Path was specifyed in CZSETUP
* Added An Option To The UnWanted Files Screen In CZSetup,
"Use Internal Search (Y/N)". It seems the archive searching
routine is unable to find file names containing 'hi-bit' ASCII chars.
(■«»). If you wish to delete these files from archives you
must disable the Internal Search, This will cause CZip to call
the compression program for EACH Unwanted filename. This option
ONLY applies to Unwanted files specifyed in CZSetup, Unwanted lists
are still processed thru the internal search.
Another option that will have no impact on the speed would be to
find the CRC of the file and include it in your CRC list.
Known Problems In Beta-2:
There are a few problems with CZSetup writting incorrect information to the
.cfg file, This appears to only be when using the Random features.

wing it for awhile :)
Sence there have been MAJOR changes to CZip sence the last release, Please 1st
take a few minutes to read all the info below.
If you've been using AC (archive converter) Please make sure you pay close
attention to the new conversion options. AC is no longer directorly supported
by CZip.
* * IF YOUR RECEVE (BEEP)FILE NOT FOUND. MAKE SURE CZIP IS IN YOUR PATH * *
* Corrected A Problem With SCAN, If SCAN.EXE was not in the path or SPath
was specifyed scan would not be executed!
* Added the new ANSI screens, The Main ansi screen now looks
more like that dredided program, ziplab. This file may be edited so long
as you DO NOT change the color/location of the areas CZip will write to.
* You may now specify a path to DORINFO1.DEF (/I), If specifyed you may omit
port (/P) and baud (/B) from your command lines as they will be read
from DORINFO1.
* The new ANSI Scrren now allows "replacabe parameters" these parameters
may be included in your ansi screen and will be replaced with info from
the dorinfo1.def file. (This is only available when using DORINFO1.DEF)
The parameters are:
$N Callers Full Name
$F Callers First Name
$L Callers Last Name
$C Callers City, State
$S Callers Security Level
$D Download K Available
$O Current Node Number
Notes On Replacable Parms:

* CZSetup And CZip Are Now Overlayed, They should require MUCH less memory.
The directory CZip and CZSetup are in now MUST be on your PATH, You must
also not change the name of the .exe files as this will cause them not to
find there overlays. DO NOT COMPRESS THE .EXE'S WITH PKLITE/ETC!
* Started adding fossil support, This may be a major project and unless
anyone see's a need for it, I'll remove it. PLEASE ONLY ENABLE FOSSIL
SUPPORT FOR TESTING PURPASES!
* Added Option Of Using 'Random' Files For Both Comments And Add Files,
You May Specify A List Of Up To 9 Files And CZip Will Randimly Pick
One To Comment/Add.
* Removed Option Of Adding A 2nd File To Archives, If Anyone Auctully
Added 2 Files To Each File.........Sorry.
* Corrected a bug in the ANSI Detection routine, It will now know if the
caller has ANSI, No ASCII support is available yet...SOON!
* CZSetup Will Now Detect Wether or Not It's Being Run On A Monocrome
System. The -M Command Line Switch Is No Longer Valid.
* Fixed Bug With UnWanted List, The Unwanted List Will No Longer Be Ignored.
* Rewrote the arhive converion option, You may now use any converter you
choose.

* Support For FILE_ID.DIZ/Etc. Files As Descriptions.
