The following changes have been made or features have been added:
TranScan v2.35 03/18/92
--------------
* TurboPower responded that the Hangs/Dropped DTRs might be caused due
to a bug in APUAT that sometimes copies garbage to the modem control
register. They suggested I add the following line to APUART.PAS:
ModemControl := 0;
I added this line, let's hope it fixes it.
* I fixed the problem where TranScan was not correctly updating the Wildcat
date when the -TCW switch was used.
* I thoroughly checked out the -Y -YR and -YW switches and they all seem to
work!
TranScan v2.34 03/15/92

* Fixed Error Code = 201 at Address = 737:1990.
* TranScan now writes Key Word #1 when using the -YR switch and if a
File_ID.Diz or Desc.sdi description file exists.
* Fixed problem with -Y switch so that it is the same as -YR & -YW on the same
command line.
* If you are still having dropped carrier try adding a -KS to the command
line (Enable Software Flow Control). If that still doesn't work change this
to -KH (Enable Hardware Flow Control). If that still doesn't work change it
to -B (stop all COM routines).
TranScan v2.33 03/06/92

* Added -R "RelocateBadFiles" switch. Use this switch with a path defining
where you want all FAILED files moved. For example:
TRANSCAN -Rc:\badfiles
The new path where the file is moved is also recorded in the Files
"CD PATH" area in the Wildcat Database. You can examine the file on-line,
from within Wildcat, or Wildcat pro by turning the "ON CD-ROM" switch to
YES.
This switch works for files FAILED due to VIRUSES and AGE REJECTION.
If this switch is not used the file is renamed to *.BAD. I hope this
feature is something some of you have been looking for.
* I moved a few routines out of the main processing routine. The extra
variables being created on the heap (particularly in deep recursion)
were causing 202 errors.
TranScan v2.32 additional note: 03/05/92

* I forgot to mention when this first went out that I also changed the way
ARJ comments are added. TranScan now adds the comments at time of
compression or recompression. In this way it eliminates one extra step in
the process. If the file is not compressed it will add the comments at a
later time. I have tried eliminating the need for ZC.EXE but as of yet
have not been successful.
* I also changed the way the -Z switch works slightly. If you use the
swith like this : -zC:\ZIP.CMT it will use the ZIP.CMT file as your comment
file--nothing new here. If you use the -Z alone it will NOT update the
ARJ/ZIP comment at all, it will keep the old comment. If you don't use the
-Z switch, transcan will look for the TRANSCAN.CMT file in the directory
where TRANSCAN.EXE is found. If you want to STRIP the comments completely
just creat a file STRIP.CMT which is completely empty and use the switch
like -ZC:\STRIP.CMT. That should do it for you.
TranScan v2.32 03/04/92

* Slightly changed use of -Y switch. It is now necessary to use the -Y switch
if you want to use the DESC.SDI or FILE_ID.DIZ file description feature.
-YR is used for Read Only.
-YW is used for Write DESC.SDI Only.
-Y is used for both Read and Write.
# TranScan also only creates KEY WORDS if you have defined "Dynamic file
keyword generation" as YES in Makewild (see MakeWild General Information
Part 2, Question #10).
* Fixed at least one of the Error 201s. It should now process more than one
file at a time.
* Corrected problem where TranScan would read DESC.SDI but would say
"Reading FILE_ID.DIZ file!" and vice versa.
* TranScan now checks to see if the wildcat description is not empty before
creating the DESC.SDI file using the -Y switch.
(Bill Masela gets credit for finding all of these bugs).
# NOTE: This is the procedure TranScan uses to add the DESC.SDI files:
1. It reads the file description from Wildcat.
2. If the Compressed file contains FILE_ID.DIZ or DESC.SDI it reads it.
3. It deletes the files in the TRANSCAN.DEL file.
4. It adds a DESC.SDI file if a FILE_ID.DIZ or DESC.SDI file does not
already exist.
5. It adds any other files you have included in the TRANSCAN.ADD file.
6. It updates the Wildcat Database.
TranScan v2.31
--------------
* TranScan now looks for the FILE_ID.DIZ file first and uses it for the
Wildcat description. If it does not find it, it uses DESC.SDI. (Suggestion
by Bill Masela).
* TranScan now Deletes files listed in TRANSCAN.DEL even when -CNONE and -X
switches are used. Before it would only delete these files during a
ReCompression or Compression Change.
* You can now turn the ViruScan On and Off with the -VOFF and -VON switch.
# The default is -VON except when processing the fileList with the -F switch
where the default is -VOFF (NOTE: If you want ViruScan to process during
the fileList processing the -VON switch must follow the -F switch, for
example TRANSCAN -F -VON ).
# This should speed up processing of the FileList considerably with no
loss of file security because the files added to the TRANSCAN.LST have
already been scanned once.
# If you have added a lot of new files to the TRANSCAN.DEL list you could
have transcan process the entire drive with the following command line:

CD\
TRANSCAN *.* -S -VOFF -CNONE
First go to drive C (C:) and then change to the root directory (CD\).
Then tell transcan to process every file (*.*), in every subdirectory
below the current path (-S), but do not Scan files (-VOFF), and do not
change compression (-CNONE).
* Added -Y switch which tells TranScan to create DESC.SDI files and add them
to the compressed file based on the description contained in your Wildcat
Database. (I haven't had much chance to test this thoroughly so use with
caution).
* Fixed Error 201 problems caused when "W" was used with -T switch.
* TranScan will add the files found in your TRANSCAN.ADD file if they exist.
Be sure to include full path names (i.e. d:\disp\bbs.add). If you don't
include the full path name the file will be copied to the archive ONLY if
it can be found in your path.
* Added "DrainOutBuffer" command after TranScan User Screen is drawn. This
will cause TranScan to completely draw the user screen before it swaps out
to UnCompress the file. On some systems it was causing such a delay in
the drawing of the screen that users were hanging up thinking the system
was HUNG.
* TranScan will now NOT try to add a ZIP comment if ZC.EXE cannot be found.
It was causing a lot of "Swap File Not Found!" errors.
OT try to add a ZIP com
