Head Step Rate Adjustment Utility

Some computers have a problem with their diskette drives when operating
under DOS version 3.x. We have found that you will get a "griding"
noise each time the drive is accessed. The problem is cause by having
an incorrect step rate for the floppy drive head. STEP.COM is a small
(6 byte) program to set the proper step rate upon boot up of the machine.
You can put the STEP program in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and have it load
each time your machine boots up. We suggest trying your machine both
without it installed and with it installed and see if there is a difference.
If you do notice one then leave it installed. If not than remove it.
STEP does not fix all drive noise problems, but does cure some that we
have found, and therefore we have included as part of FAST!.
